Simultaneous translation is the most common form of conference interpreting at international events. Oral communication is simultaneously translated from one language into the other. The interpreters work within a booth with two to three workplaces, and the participants listen to their interpretation via headphones. A team consists of at least two interpreters. Simultaneous translation is very exhausting, therefore interpreters usually alternate every 30 minutes. We just need to know a few facts about the event you are planning, in order to compose a tailor-made team of interpreters for you.

In consecutive translation the speaker and the interpreter who is usually situated next to the speaker, alternate in speaking. While the input for the technical equipment is low, it is a rather time consuming exercise.

Liaison interpreting during negotiations works well with small groups. Normally the interpreter sits at the same table as the participants. In order to maintain the dynamics of the negotiations or debate, the speaker alternates with the interpreter in short intervals. Alternatively simultaneous interpreting is possible by using a so-called personal guide system, whereby the interpreter´s microphone transmits to the participants´ headphones via infrared. In this case we recommend to limit the number of participants to approx. 25 to maintain a good level of acoustics.
